The hull is hand-laid with fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP). A continuous longitudinal keel provides the primary structural strength. The superstructure and main deck employ a lightweight balsa-core
FRP sandwich construction. The hull-deck joint is fastened with through-bolts and sealed with FRP to ensure a watertight seal.
